Nashville Reunion 2004

Reunions happen. You choose to be a part of them or you dont. Either a reunion takes you back to a time that was important to you or its probably a waste of time. You revisit the memories of old times: most good, some not. You reconnect with the guys you knew when you were willing to risk the loss of your life for a friend. When you left the BlueGhost unit, you were happy to get out of the war zone alive. You wanted to get on with life. Now, years later, you realize that that was the most important time of your life. You cherish the moments, the days that you thought you would be happy to forget. You revisit old memories and old friends with a sheepish grin on your face and you think to yourself, This is cool; thank you, Lord, for letting me be here and attend this reunion. Thank you for letting me be a part of all those lives that the BlueGhosts saved: the lives of our unit members, the lives of the MEDEVAC crews; the lives of WIAs; and the lives of the guys who leave a heartfelt Thank you on the Guestbook entries.
However, a reunion is not just about the guys who were members of F Troop 8th Cav. Its also about their family members and fiancés. The wives, sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters comprise our extended BlueGhost family. Their support of and participation in the Nashville Reunion (as well as in previous reunions) was a sight to behold! On behalf of all BlueGhosts, Id like to say THANK YOU to our extended family for being there for us, for trying to understand us and for contributing so much to our lives.
A BlueGhost reunion cannot be put into words; it can only be experienced; it can only be felt. For those of you who know what Im talking about, The Spirit of BlueGhost Lives On. For those of you who have not attended a reunion, you owe it to yourself to shake the hands of the guys you were willing to risk your life for.
I salute you one and all. Thanks for the memories.

Dan Buckley brought a recording of a song he had written. The music and vocals are by Chris Holmes.
The inspiration for the song came from Kim Whitworth and her search for information about her father. The song is dedicated to the the ones who lost their father, brother, uncle or husband.
Hopefully the link will work, it was tough uploading this on a dialup! I think with a "right click", this song can be saved to your computer.
